Download NowRevit Keynote Database Installation
The program is embedded in an Excel sheet and is ready for use without a formal installation. You will simply need to allow macros in Excel if they are not already enabled.
Starting out
Begin by adding new keynotes to the database. Keynotes can be categorized, filtered, edited, and searched for.
Using with Revit projects
You may want to keep a "master" keynote database on your server and make copies in a job folder where you can add project specific keynotes. To export your keynotes for use in Revit, click the "Save Revit list to job folder" button and remember the location. In Revit, you can import and update the keynotes list by clicking "Settings -> Keynoting". Click the "Browse" button and select the text file location. You can also change the path type to "Relative" and numbering method to "By sheet" if you don't have another preference. One method of adding keynotes to your drawings is in sheet view, right-click on viewport and select "Activate view". From the top menu bar, select "Drafting->Keynote -> Element". Select the item to be keynoted and then select the appropriate keynote from the list that appears. The appearance of the keynote leader can be modified using the family editor.
Program updates
Check this website occasionally for program updates and added functionality. To migrate keynotes from a previous version to the latest update, simply import the previously exported Revit text file and continue where you left off.
