WORLD’S FIRST AI-POWERED HOTEL

JULY 2025

Otonomus Hotel—the world’s first AI-powered hotel—opened on July 1st in Las Vegas. Designed to blend the flexibility of short-term rentals with the amenities of a luxury hotel, Otonomus uses AI-driven personalization to deliver a customized, VIP-style experience at an affordable price. Otonomus also uses AI to automate many operational processes, allowing human employees to focus on providing guest-facing services. The hotel features 300 guest suites, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with full kitchens. Amenities include a fitness center, two pools, and in-room dining. Growth Construction served as general contractor. Perlman Architects is the project’s architect. Wright Engineers is proud to have provided the structural engineering for this groundbreaking development.

WRIGHT ENGINEERS AWARDS STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIPS

Each academic year, Wright Engineers sponsors two scholarships awarded to senior or graduate-level students with a focus in structural engineering. We’re proud to announce the 2025-2026 recipients:

Adilene Rendon (above left) is a senior at UNLV pursuing a degree in civil engineering with emphasis in structures. A first-generation college student, she is active in UNLV’s Associated General Contractors Student Chapter and is a regular on the Dean’s List. “My benchmark for success is simple,” she says. “Deliver work that strengthens the community and creates long-term value for the organizations I’m a part of, and inspire people like myself—a woman, Latina, first generation student—to pursue a STEM career!”

Omar Salem (above right) will start his master’s degree in civil engineering at UC Berkeley this fall. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at UC San Diego, he served as design captain for their ASCE Timber-Strong Design Build team. The team competes nationally to design and build a sustainable, aesthetically appealing, and structurally durable two-story light-framed wood building. Omar is passionate about all aspects of structural engineering—from high-rise office towers to concrete parking structures—and hopes to one day earn his SE license and become a principal engineer leading impactful projects that benefit the community.

We congratulate Adilene and Omar and extend our appreciation to all the outstanding applicants from universities across the country. We wish them all the very best in their future careers.
