RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
Since 1974 when the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House Charities has been providing support, comfort, and a place to stay for families dealing with a medical crisis. The new Ronald McDonald House in Las Vegas, Nevada features eight independent patio homes to create a home away from home for families who must travel for their child to receive medical care. Novus Architecture is the project’s architect. Wright Engineers is proud to have provided the structural engineering services.
ILUMINA ON RAIDERS WAY
The recently completed 232-unit Ilumina on Raiders Way luxury apartment complex includes a full tavern located on the ground level along with a tropical beach club, sky bar, and pickle ball courts. Burke Construction Group is the general contractor and Greene-Tindall is the architect. Wright Engineers is the structural engineer.
WRIGHT ENGINEERS AWARDS STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIPS
Wright Engineers sponsors two scholarships each academic year to senior or graduate-level students whose focus is structural engineering. We’re pleased to announce the 2024-2025 winners.
Emily Kristensen (above left) recently graduated with a BS degree in civil engineering at Texas A&M-College Station where she was president of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Ambassador program, was a statics tutor, and has been on the Dean’s Honor Roll five times. Emily will begin her master’s program at the University of Texas-Austin this fall.
Lionicio (Leo) Mata (above right) recently graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and has been working since June as a summer intern at Wright Engineers’ Las Vegas office. While at Cal Poly, Leo was a member of the Chi Epsilon Honor Society and participated in the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute club where he made and tested a 5-foot-tall structure made of balsa wood as part of a competition with other schools. Leo will be pursuing a master’s degree at the University of California San Diego this fall.
