Inner-Coastal Cleanup Day

Each year, the Southern California Inner-Coastal Cleanup Day is held in conjunction with the Coastal Cleanup Day, in which areas upstream from Southern California’s beaches are picked up by local volunteers. The projects tackled by volunteers included 27 different locations with up to 8 of the 13 watershed areas in and around Orange County. With 2,434 volunteers, the clean-up day accounted for over 52,000 lbs. of trash and more than 5,000 lbs. of recyclable materials. Volunteers from Wright Engineers Irvine office worked with their families along side other California residents at the San Diego Creek — just a few miles from our Irvine office. “We were even able to find some structural trash-“, commented Scott Jones, Vice President and Director of California Operations, “a cut-end from a wide flange beam.”
