Wright Engineers sponsors two scholarships each academic year to senior or graduate-level students whose focus is structural engineering. We would like to thank the dozens of applicants who represented numerous universities and wish them the very best in their future career. We are pleased to announce the winners for the 2025 – 2026 school year.

Adilene Rendon

Adilene Rendon is a senior at UNLV pursuing a degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structures. A first-generation college student, she is active in UNLV’s Associated General Contractors Student Chapter and is a regular on the Dean’s List. “My benchmark for success is simple,” she says. “Deliver work that strengthens the community and creates long-term value for the organizations I’m a part of, and inspire people like myself—a woman, Latina, first generation student—to pursue a STEM career!”

Omar Salem

Omar Salem will start his master’s degree in civil engineering at UC Berkeley this fall. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at UC San Diego, he served as design captain for the ASCE Timber-Strong Design Build team. The team competes nationally to design and build a sustainable, aesthetically appealing, and structurally durable two-story light-framed wood building. Omar is passionate about all aspects of structural engineering—from high-rise office towers to concrete parking structures—and hopes to one day earn his SE license and become a principal engineer leading impactful projects that benefit the community.
