Fishing 4 Housing Solutions

Wright Engineers’ second annual Fishing 4 Housing Solutions deep-sea fishing expedition reeled in $5,000 in support of HomeAid Orange County—and a full load of bluefin tuna! The boat limited out, making it a successful fundraiser and a memorable weekend at sea.

Led by charter master and Wright Engineers’ President Scott Jones, anglers set sail out of H&M Landing in San Diego, CA aboard the Poseidon sportfishing boat for 2-1/2 days of adventure on the high seas.

Fishing 4 Housing Solutions is a joint venture between Wright Engineers and HomeAid Orange County, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness rebuild their lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

A heartfelt thank you to all the anglers and sponsors who helped make this event a success. Want to join us next year? Mark your calendar for the weekend of October 10, 2026!

TAOS HIGH SCHOOL GYM

A new gymnasium honoring the late Daniel “Dan Dan” Barrone Jr., beloved Taos High School wrestling coach, is under construction on the existing Taos High School campus. The detached auxiliary facility will provide flexible space for strength training and conditioning, comfortable spectator seating, spacious locker rooms, office areas, and equipment storage—everything students and athletes need for training, competition, and community events.

Wright Engineers designed the structure using structural insulated panels (SIPs)—an energy-efficient, rapidly assembled system that shortens the construction schedule and reduces energy costs throughout the building’s life.

Formative Architecture is the project’s architect. Winters Construction of Farmington, NM, is the general contractor.

Construction is expected to be complete in early 2026.
