RAISING CANE’S IN OVER 30 CALIFORNIA LOCATIONS

What began in Louisiana over 24 years ago is taking the country by storm, and Wright Engineers is proud to assist Raising Cane’s recent rapid growth in California—where they now have over 30 locations.  Working with architects PM Design and CSRS and with general contractor Parkway Construction, Wright has not only provided excellent and speedy engineering (much like Cane’s food), but has also worked to develop cost-effective California seismic prototype plans for Cane’s long-term expansion.  Cane’s received national press for their “No Employee Left Behind” policy that has guided their corporate decisions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—wherein not a single employee was furloughed or laid off.

DOWNTOWN VEGAS BUILDING GETS NEW LIFE

Originally a 3-story savings and loan bank constructed in the ‘70’s, this building located at 201 Carson in downtown Las Vegas has been given a new life and a new name: S & L.  New features include a rooftop restaurant, a new elevator, and 6-story parking garage, and the entire building structure received a seismic upgrade to bring it up to the current code.  A “kinetic art piece” is planned for garage and stair tower.  Carpenter Sellers Delgatto is the project’s architect.  Bentar Development is the general contractor.  Wright Engineers is pleased to have provided the structural engineering.

HUNTRIDGE SWOOP BUILDING

Bunnyfish Studio Architects and Dapper Companies teamed up to design this unique and unusual-shaped building located in the historic Huntridge Plaza in Las Vegas.  The swooped roof is made up of curved glulam beams supported by steel posts.  The design pays tribute to mid-century modern architecture prevalent in Las Vegas in the 1960s and is currently home to two restaurants.

WRIGHT CEO PUBLISHES SECOND BOOK

Well, sort of…It’s his second self-published book–a collection of his cartoons making fun of engineers, architects, builders, and others in the AEC industry, along with some lighthearted commentary.  You can check it out at here, or reach out to your favorite structural engineer and maybe he or she can get you your own copy.
