SURFING IN THE DESERT

DSRT Surf is a new 17-acre surf-themed resort is in design in Palm Desert, California.  The resort features a 91 key hotel, premium villas, and amenities such as a restaurant, bar, fitness center, spa and fitness center, and meeting rooms, all situated around a 7 million gallon Wavegarden Cove with endless surfing in optimized ocean-like wave conditions.  AO Architects is the project’s architect.  Wright Engineers is pleased to provide the structural engineering.

 

WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Wright Engineers sponsors two scholarships each academic year to senior or graduate-level students whose focus is structural engineering, and this year’s winners are both outstanding students.  Brandon Huynh (left) from Las Vegas, Nevada is a senior at UNLV majoring in civil engineering.  He plans to pursue a MS degree and focus on the structural engineering of bridges.  Brianna Hansen (right) from Moses Lake, Washington, is a senior at BYU.  She currently works as a structural engineering intern in Wright Engineers’ Salt Lake City office and plans to pursue a MS degree in structural engineering.
