WRIGHT ENGINEERS PRESENTS AT SREA FALL MEETING

Erik Anderson, PE, SE, principal and partner at Wright Engineers, was a featured presenter at the 2025 Structural Roof Erectors Association (SREA) Fall Meeting September 11-12 in Lake Tahoe.

Erik’s presentation highlighted advancements in hybrid roof structural design and explored how the 2024 International Building Code impacts the hybrid industry—including updates to rain, snow, wind, and seismic load provisions. He shared practical insights into evolving design practices, guidance on navigating the intersection of code compliance and structural innovation, and he even touched on how AI is being used by engineers and contractors in the industry.

Founded in 1999, SREA brings together industry leaders and experts to advance the structural roof industry through collaboration, education, and innovation.

 

PHOENIX AFFORDABLE FAMILY HOUSING UNITS

The newly opened La Esperanza Terrace delivers much-needed affordable housing to the City of Phoenix, offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for nearly 100 low-income families. Developed on the site of a former preschool, the project came to life through the collaborative efforts of the Isaac School District, the Phoenix IDA, UMOM, and the City of Phoenix. Key team members included Perlman Architects of Arizona as project architect, H&B Builders as general contractor, and Wright Engineers, who was honored to provide structural engineering services.

 

TILT-UP CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

Two projects featuring structural engineering by Wright Engineers have been honored with Tilt-Up Achievement Awards by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA).

  • TCRG Conagra – a more than one-million square foot tilt-up facility in Fort Worth, Texas, designed by Alliance Architects.
  • The Village at Henderson Medical Office Building – a healthcare project in Henderson, Nevada, designed by Cuningham Group Architecture.

These projects were recognized among the industry’s best, showcasing innovation, technical excellence, and the versatility of tilt-up concrete.

The TCA Tilt-Up Achievement Awards program was created to celebrate projects that expand the possibilities of tilt-up construction, introduce new building types, and demonstrate unique solutions to architectural and structural challenges. Winning entries highlight the beauty, efficiency, and flexibility of this construction method.

 

WRIGHT ENGINEERS ACCEPTS BEST FIRM AWARD IN SAN ANTONIO

Executives from Wright Engineers traveled to San Antonio, Texas to accept a Best Firm to Work For award from the Zweig Group. Pictured above are Braden Forbush (left), VP and Director of Wright’s Texas Operations, and Salvador Carrazco (right), Director of Business Development. In the Structural Engineering category, Wright Engineers earned the #1 ranking among structural firms with 50 to 99 employees and placed #3 overall. This marks the eighth consecutive year Wright Engineers has been ranked in the top five—including five years at #1. These awards highlight Wright’s ongoing commitment to a people-first culture and its reputation as one of the nation’s leading structural engineering firms.
