Wright Engineers is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of STB structural engineers, a Southern California structural engineering firm founded in 1962 and highly regarded for their expertise in K-12 and higher ed facilities.
“With this strategic acquisition, Wright Engineers is stronger and better, and our clients are the beneficiary,” said Scott Jones, Wright Engineers’ Executive VP and Director of California Operations. “This represents a significant milestone in our firm’s growth, and we’re thrilled to add STB’s strength and experience to our own.”
Among STB’s many successful recent projects is the Tustin Legacy Magnet Academy (pictured above), a grades 6 – 12 Technology, Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (TIDE) magnet school. The architectural design pays homage to the iconic World War II blimp hangars on the nearby Marine Corps Air Station Tustin. In addition to education facilities, STB also has an impressive resume of industrial, office, and commercial buildings.
Doug Thompson, SE, former STB President, will act as Structural Director in Wright’s Orange County office. In addition to leading STB for the past several decades, Doug is the author of numerous structural engineering articles and publications and is a nationally sought-after lecturer. He has served as a member of the Mayor’s Earthquake Technical Task Force for the City of Los Angeles and is a past president of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC).
“We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings,” said Doug. “By leveraging our expertise with Wright Engineers’ well-established reputation and resources, we can offer an even higher level of service and support to all of our clients.”
Wright Engineers will ensure that STB’s clients continue to receive the same great service that they’ve come to expect from Doug and his team.
