STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SERVICES: STRONGER AND MORE FOCUSED

“Stronger and more focused.”  This is the description offered by Scott Jones, SE, Director of Wright’s California operations, when asked to describe the company after the sale of the MEP segment of the business to Ei Design last month.  With this strategic sale, all of our energy can now be focused on our core strength–structural engineering.

This significant final action in returning to a structural-only firm completes a circle that spans nearly 20 years.  Listening to client feedback led us to add civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, geotechnical, and inspection services over the span of many years.  “While the excitement of adding new services carried us through for a long time,” relates CEO Brent Wright, “in the end we determined there is just no substitute for doing exclusively the thing you understand and perform the very best.  And for us, that is and always has been structural engineering.”

Wright’s Irvine, California office now joins the Wright Engineers offices in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, with a focus exclusively on providing clients with best-in-class structural engineering services.

SMART HEALTHY HOME OF THE FUTURE

When KB Home set off to build the smart healthy home of the future, it was only natural that they call upon Wright Engineers’ “outside the box” structural engineering services.  The goal of the project, dubbed KB Home Projekt, was to transform not only the way a home is designed and built, but also the homeowner’s experience.  To accomplish this, the design focused on sustainability, building envelope and systems inter-operability, and smart home technology.  Much of the home’s critical structural components were fabricated off-site using sustainable laminated strand lumber and then shipped to the site for assembly.  The completed home is located in the master-planned community of Inspirada in Henderson.
